I bought a hat today
Finally. The sun is intense and I've been on the lookout for a hat but all the hats in walking distance are way too expensive. I refuse to pay $15 US for a hat in Chiang Mai. I can pay that much money in the US for a baseball cap and I don't want a baseball cap. I'm not going to spend too much and end up with a hat I don't like.
Sometimes my logic has a logic that only I can understand. I will subject myself to heat stroke before I spend $15 on a hat in Chiang Mai. Also, I do not enjoy the luxury of being able to go walking around looking for a store that sells cheap hats. It hurts too much. I need to find a hat on my way somewhere.
I had to go to the mall to pay my rent (bank's at the mall). While at the Mall I decided to check into a new pair of glasses. My ex-brother-in-law showed me his reading glasses, a pair he bought here in Chiang Mai on his last visit, 4 or 5 years ago. They cost him $50 US. Chip loves a bargain.
While at the Mall and in route to a store that sells glasses I spotted a store with just the hat I wanted. I didn't have to settle and it only cost $8 US. Of course it looks great on me. That's a given. The hat flatter the wearer, me.
I got to the optical store via the esceltor and spent at least thirty minutes there, went through the whole routine and got a price of twenty two thousand baht (it was a two for one pricing) two pair of glasses. That's about $750 US, not the $50 my brother in law spent.
Chip is not happy with that price. He leaves. Chip says he will return tomorrow but he lied. After that he needed another $7 US foot massage to make him happy again. Not happy as in "happy ending" happy. No. No. No. Just make my foot feel better and leave my cock alone.
While I was getting my foot massage there was another customer, a gentelman, getting a Thai massage. I've never heard some as vocal as that man. It was commical and it was weird. It would have been normal if it was a whore house but it's not, to my understanding, though I've never been upstairs. When the man left the staff did not know who to react because of me. I feel confident they would have been chatting up a storm if I was not there.
